From the youngest age I have been immersed in the world of renovating and reinventing homes. Often that meant I grew up in the worst house on a very beautiful street but even as a little girl I marvelled at my parents visionary approach to life as they could always see such incredible potential in homes - what they could become when the right changes were made - what transformations were just within reach when hard work and passion combined. I loved being part of that hustle, that feeling that we were on our way to creating something unique and special and that with time, we too would have an amazing home in an incredible location.
Weekends were often a tapestry of exciting exploration, as I accompanied my mother, an interior decorator, through display homes and fabric houses, nurseries and furniture stores - I soaked in that creative energy like a sponge and remember always feeling full of wonder and totally uplifted by the endless possibilities that seemed to greet us at every turn. Inspired by her vision and the beauty of the homes she helped to create, I discovered then that design was far more than just a passion—it was part of who I am.

And I firmly believe that is how Amanda Kate Design was born. From my childhood environment when breathtaking change through thoughtful design continuously played out before my eyes - a process that will forever ignite a flame in my heart and captivate the very depths of my soul.

These days, my passions remain unchanged. I am committed to uplifting lives, one home at a time through thoughtful and inspired design. And when I’m not immersed in my creative endeavours, you’ll find me navigating the world of motherhood. With all its ups and downs, challenges and joys, I have learnt so much about myself being a Mum and cherish every sacred moment I get to spend with my young family.

What I Am Into...

Based in the picturesque Hunter Valley Region of New South Wales, my services extend to Sydney and surrounding areas and wherever my jobs take me, I am dedicated to crafting interiors that leave a long lasting and powerful impression. I have an unwavering respect for details and a deep seated passion for design - one of the things I am most proud of is the enthusiasm and joy I bring to my projects and the unrelenting way I hone my skills and refine my craft at each and every turn.

I am proud to say that for over 15 years now I have successfully turned my lifelong love of design into a prosperous and fulfilling career.

Throughout my studies I have consistently surpassed expectations, earning me the recognition of being a ‘top achiever’ in every one of my chosen design courses. Additionally, my innovative marble mosaic tile design, 'The Decotini', was chosen as the winning product for a bespoke tile concept brief by Earps Bros Australia which they described as being a testament to my unwavering creativity and vision.

In 2020, I had the privilege of joining a distinguished local architectural firm, where I collaborated with an award-winning team on a diverse range of residential and commercial projects. Drawing from this invaluable experience, I now focus my expertise solely on residential design. With a desire to help every client rediscover and realise the beauty and potential in their homes, I am also strongly motivated to work on increasing the property’s value and ultimately its broader market appeal.

And it goes without saying that client satisfaction is paramount to me. I work with a respectful intuition, paying close attention to the design and aesthetic features that are important to you in your home and beyond that - to understanding how you want to feel in the spaces we create.
